Saul Friedman: Pass along your values
If I may get personal, tomorrow is an important date in my life. I was married to my Evelyn Jan. 20, 1952, and we are together still. But every four years in the past, our anniversary dinner was delayed because I was busy covering presidential inaugurations, which fall on the same date. And I have covered nine since 1965. Once again, a year from tomorrow, we shall observe another inauguration and the beginning of a new chapter in the nation's saga that we hope will be filled with peace and hope, sense and civility. .
Cavaliers take a risk with 11-player trade
Cleveland dealt away half its active roster in an 11-player trade deal that the Cavaliers hope will help its star, LeBron James, lead the team to the NBA title. With one minute to spare before the trading deadline expired, Cleveland dismantled its team in a move that management acknowledges is risky, with fewer than 30 games remaining in the regular season. In a complex deal involving Cleveland, Chicago and Seattle, Ferry dealt half his active roster to acquire center Ben Wallace and forward Joe Smith from the Bulls, and forward Wally Szczerbiak and guard Delonte West from the SuperSonics. James wants to win a championship, and after seeing several other teams land big-name players via trades in recent weeks, he made it clear to Cavaliers management that he needed help.
Pats-Chargers 1963 AFL title game may have had a little espionage
When the Patriots and Chargers met in Week 2, their rematch from last season's playoffs was an afterthought. The bad blood that had boiled since the Patriots pulled the upset and then fueled the fire by mocking Shawne Merriman's "Lights Out" dance wasn't making as many headlines as it might have. .
In South Carolina, a bid for black women's votes
Also, it is noteworthy that, while the sheeple in Iowa followed Hucksters ministerial minions to an extent and voted in droves for the Bible Belt Bigot and Huckster Huckabee (who had no traction until his ministerial minions started spewing their lies about Romney's faith–I got one of them myself from the local "pastor"), evangelicals even in Iowa and to a greater extent in Michigan saw through the lies and choose to look at the actual policies espoused by the candidates. Romney got 25% of the evangelical vote even in Iowa and in Michigan ROMNEY RECEIVED 34% OF THE EVANGELICAL VOTE TO HUCKABEE'S 28%! VOTE ROMNEY ECONOMY!!!!!!!!!! He's also the strongest candidate on immigration and defense and brings a moral and decent man to the whitehouse with his moral and decent family to be an example to us all of how America can prosper when its families are strong.
